New Online Membership Renewals and Application Forms

Our Online forms and payment platform are now live.

Those choosing to complete their paperwork online can now Renew their Membership and Apply to be become  Members by using our online forms – these allow for all payment methods.

Those choosing to pay via credit card, payments can now be made through our secure Stripe payment platform. Stripe accepts both Visa and Mastercard.

ALHA 2021/2022 Membership Renewals are Now Due

Dear Members

Our 2021/2022 Membership Renewals are now due and payable. 

The ALHA Board acknowledges our members and troops participation and support in the past and hope that you will continue to be part of the Association this year and into the future. 

As a valued member, you are invited to renew your membership for the coming year.

Membership fees are – 

  • Riding Members – : $85
  • ATA – Tentpegging Riding Member – : $60 
  • Non-Riding Members – : $60 

Please note – A Riding Member is any member riding or leading a horse whilst participating in parades, ceremonies, displays or events.

All renewal forms are to be completed and signed by the member, then returned online, via email (scanned copy) or post. After processing and clearing of payment your new card and receipt will be forwarded to you in due course. 
  • Members, please note the renewal form MUST be completed otherwise your membership renewal will not be processed.

The Jericho Cup Challenge 2021 – Expressions Of Interest

Dear Secretaries and Members
 

The Jericho Cup Challenge will be held this year at Warrnambool VIC, on the weekend of Saturday 27 November and Sunday 28 November 2021 (pending COVID-19 State Restrictions)

This is an invitation only event for financial members of the Australian Light Horse Association.

Interested members of the Australian Light Horse Association are therefore cordially invited to submit their Expressions of Interest to attend and participate in this event.

ALHA President’s Dinner 15 May 2021

ALHA PRESIDENT’S DINNER

Will be held in Currumbin Qld – (Covid-19 restrictions permitting).

Venue: Currumbin RSL – 165 Duringan Street, Currumbin. Qld

Valley Side and Creekside Function Rooms.

Times:  1730 hrs to 2300 hrs.

DRESS:

Mess Dress and miniatures.

Gentlemen – Black Tie or Suit with medals, where applicable.

Ladies – After Five wear, with medals, where applicable.

MENU:

On arrival canapes and a complimentary drink.

Main Course and Dessert – alternate selection.

COST:   $80.00 per person

DRINKS and BEVERAGES:

A complimentary drink will be provided with the canapes prior to dinner, all other drinks at the guests own expense from the Bar.

Port will be provided by the Host Troop for Toasts.

ENTERTAINMENT:

A Piper will be in attendance and the band Haystack Mountain Hermits will perform their new release song “The Horses Stay Behind (One Last Ride)”.

The Guest Speaker will be Nigel Allsopp – President of the Australian War Animals Memorial Organisation Inc will share stories of the many military mascots throughout history. The following events for 2021 will be held subject to any COVID-19 State or National Restrictions imposed or in place at the time. Please be aware restrictions can come into affect while you are travelling – this may mean extra paperwork for permits or borders closed.

A formal dinner on Saturday night hosted by the AAVC Commemorative Troop Queensland Inc.

Saturday 31st July and Sunday 1st August 2021

Boonah RSL commemorating the 101st Anniversary of the Dedication of the Boonah War Memorial on Saturday where a Dignitary will be officiating at the War Memorial with a Light Horse parade through town with an Escort to be provided. In the evening a formal dinner at the Boonah Cultural Centre, followed on the Sunday by a Light Horse competition on the Sunday at the Boonah Showgrounds.

September 2021
Friday 24th September, Saturday 25th September and Sunday 26th September 2021. Beaudesert Showgrounds Queensland. 1st Cavalry Brigade Competition, (Association Cup event). Commemorating a Light Horse event at Beaudesert on the 9th March 1940, between the 2/14th, 5th, and 11th Regiments.

COVID – 19 Event Cancellations 2020

Due to the evolving situation regarding COVID – 19 and the uncertainty of State Restrictions that are in place. the following events have unfortunately been cancelled.

Keeping Up to Date with COVID-19

With restrictions and regulations changing on an almost daily basis, the ALHA has put together the following information and included links that Members may find helpful to keep up-to-date with the most current restrictions and requirements.

The ALHA would like to advise its Troops if you are considering holding a gathering or event of any kind you need to be aware of the latest requirements in your state. It is important that you are familiar with the COVID-19 Guidelines when organising or participating in an event and if you are required to display the necessary documentation around the event premises.

Collect a Coronavirus Self-Declaration Form (here) from everyone attending, these forms must be completed by all attendees and retained by the host Troop.

BE COVID SAFE GUIDELINES FOR COMMUNITY SPORT

Troops holding events need to be familiar with COVID-19 Guidelines, and need to complete a COVID-19 Safety Plan and are required to display the necessary documentation if required. Some venues may require a Risk Management Form

Troops must contact their venue owners (Council, Trusts etc.) to confirm that the grounds are available for use and have completed their own risk assessment document for their venue. 

The following Covid safe practices are implemented to minimise cross contamination these include (but are not limited to):

  • Continue to self-distance, practice good hygiene,
  • Provide hand sanitiser dispensers in prominent places around the event
  • Keep all shared services and areas clean by washing/wiping down with antibacterial wipes or soap and water frequently.
  • Appoint one person to open and close venue gates at the start and end of the day
  • Clearly communicate your Covid Safety Plan and procedures to your members, prior to activities and events.
  • Ensure maximum numbers are adhered to for your venue
  • Members bring their own feed and buckets etc.
  • Minimise or remove any need to share tack or other equipment.
  • Non-contact for all uniform, saddlery and equipment –  when a gear check is performed disposable gloves are to be worn.
  • Please follow these guidelines – COVID-19 infection control guidelines for community

Members are still required to submit all ALHA Event Notification forms including:

  • Events Notification
  • Risk Management Form
  • Site Inspection Checklist

Please be aware that restrictions change regularly so it is important to check your state’s regulations for updates.
As of Wednesday, 1 July 2020, further changes to restrictions have been implemented in some states.
