OPERATIONS ORDER (OPORD) TROOP TRAINING
DONALDSON PARK 2021
Tenth Light Horse Bunbury Troop Inc. Troop Training and Skill at Arms Practice
1000 to 1400hrs every third Sunday of the month for 2021 at Donaldson Park off Hands Ave, Bunbury
There is NO requirement to be in full light horse uniform and saddlery is open (for this training session) Swords and Lance stirrup buckets if you have them
The Training will consist of two main elements, Troop Formation Drill & Section Gamesmanship.
Troop formation Drill: will start with formation of a troop line for numbering and dressing prior to moving out onto Donaldson Park, followed by warm up and desensitization, moving on to formation commands and dressing drills in the three phases of Section, Half-Section and Single File, advancing and retiring.
Section Gamesmanship: will be a combination of Association Cup events and Skill at Arms practice.
Mounted and Dismounted Drill and Weapons Handling as appropriate.
Float parking and mustering location will be directed on site. Troopers are expected to be saddled and ready for inspection at 0930hrs
*0900 – Arrive
*0930 – Troop inspection – Rider Briefing
*1000 – Morning Session – Troop Drill Musical Ride components
*1200 – Lunch – BYO
*1245 – Afternoon Session – Skill at Arms – Gamesmanship
*1400 – Finish and De-Brief … frosty beverage
If Troopers can ride share or share floats, that would be preferable Strictly No access to the center of the race course before 1000hrs. Australian Light Horse Association membership will be required, or a wavier signed. All feed and manure to be removed off site upon completion of training.
