Hi all,
I am a newcomer to the Light Horse forum and am trying to find any information I can on Edward Bourne or Leslie Amos Grose, all I have to go on are 2 group photos both from 1915 "Benang" the first is labelled 10th Division and the second is labelled 10th Battalion. On the back it say 'Light Horse'.
If anyone can help me with any information I would be very grateful.
Regards,

Bonnie. I can find neither of them listed in the Embarkation Rolls or Nominal Rolls by these Christian mames. There were no men by the surname of Bourne or Grose in the 10th Light Horse Regiment or 10th Infantry Battalion, that I can find, unless they were transferred, but this seems highly unlikely for 1915. What you may have photographs of, could be the 10th Australian Light Horse Militia, Western Australia. If you could give us some more information, it may help. Are these men in Light Horse Uniforms or Infantry uniforms. If Light Horse they will have riding breeches, leather leggings, leather ammunition bandolier and slouch hat, etc. If you also have Regimental numbers for them, this will also go a long way to finding them. If they are both Militia men, it is going to very difficult to trace them. There are very few records of the Militia. Maybe one of our other researchers will have some information for you. Good luck with this and don't give up, you will be amazed at what information can turn up sometimes. Jeff |
